Las Vegas Historical Premier in a City of Firsts
from: Las Vegas Historical Premier Event Winter 2007 In Las Vegas, Premier events are expected, but a true first in Nevada history is very exciting, especially for Nevada's visually impaired people (VIP's).
The Grand "Eye" Opening of Las Vegas' First-Ever Vision Center, 'Low Vision Services Inc.' at the 'YESnick Vision Center', dedicated to visually impaired children & adults.
"One out of every three seniors has some form of vision problem NOT correctable with glasses, contact lenses or surgery, due to Diabetes, Macular Degeneration & Glaucoma," says, Dr. David P. Yesnick, clinical director for "Low Vision Services."
"Low Vision Services at the YESnick Vision Center is dedicated exclusively to help the visually impaired stay independent to read, see computer and TV and even drive."

"Over 40 of my patients are driving next to you and I. So we have to do a good job to keep the visually impaired driver safe and legal."
Dr. Yesnick is teamed up with his spouse Sandy, creating the ONLY husband and wife team in the United States to assist the visually impaired.
Sandy is Nevada's ONLY board certified Vision Therapist for the visually impaired. She is a modern day success story. A female hispanic immigrant, Sandy started her Vision Center in 2003 and has helped thousands of patients successfully cope with vision loss and achieve independence. "Many patients with vision loss end up in nursing homes, my goal was to keep these people safe and independent in their own homes."
Nevada's doctors have embraced Sandy's efforts to assist people with vision problems. "Sandy Yesnick is all heart and goes WAY out of her way to assist her visually challenged patients." says referring eye surgeon, Russell Jayne. "She and Dr. Yesnick serve a community need that until now had been woefully underserved. When glasses, contact lenses or surgery are no longer effective, help is now available."
Many of our patients take advantage of their vacation time in Las Vegas, taking a couple hours to visit us for vision therapy. That enables people from areas without this type service to receive the necessary help. Patients routinely visit from Arizona, California, all parts of Nevada and have come from as far away as Europe.
